VILLAGE OF CALUMETNOTICE OF CLOSEOUT PUBLIC HEARING
FOR MICHIGAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING FOR THE DOWNTOWN FAÇADE PROJECT The Village of Calumet will conduct a closeout public hearing on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 6:30pm at the Village of Calumet, Village Council Chambers, Village of Calumet Town Hall, 340 Sixth St. Calumet, MI 49913 for the purpose of affording citizens an opportunity to submit comments and receive a final report on the completion of the Downtown Façade project CDBG grant. The CDBG grant provided funding to assist in improving the façades of four highly visible, historic, downtown buildings on 5th Street and rehabilitated over 13,000 square feet in a low-moderate income community. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) provided $227,342.17, the Downtown Development Authority provided $10,000 and the business owners provided $65,780.89 at 100, 209, 301 and 326 5th Street for total project costs of $303,123.06. The CDBG project benefitted at least 51% low to moderate income persons; Zero persons were displaced as a result of the project. Interested parties are invited to comment on the project in person at the public hearing or in writing to the Village of Calumet, 340 Sixth St., Calumet, MI 49913 or [email protected] through Monday, May 23, 2022 at 5pm and addressed to Amber Goodman.
