Houghton County Jail Taskforce

In an effort to gain better understanding of what Houghton County residents are thinking about the different options that are available regarding the Houghton County Jail, the Houghton County Board of Commissioners has voted to form a taskforce to look at the issue. 

To that end, the Village of Calumet will appoint one Village resident, along with one alternate, to serve on this taskforce.  It will be the taskforce’s charge to look at all of the options regarding the construction of a new jail such as size, location, etc. 

​Please submit a letter of interest to the Village office no later than 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2019.  The letter should state why you want to serve on the taskforce and represent the residents of the Village of Calumet.  If you have any questions please contact the Village office at 337-1713 or email [email protected].
