Reminder: the Village Office will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. 

There will be a Special Meeting of the DDA on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 9:00am in the Village Council Chambers. 

There will be a Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 5:30pm in the Village Council Chambers.

REMINDER:

Spring Cleanup Pick-up dates are next week after Memorial Day, starting Tuesday May 30th and running through Friday June 2nd. Please have all yard debris placed to the curb by end of the day on Memorial Day for pick-up! 

Once items have been picked-up, street sweeping will begin!!

Spring Cleanup in the Village of Calumet is underway! Pick-up dates are Tuesday May 30th through Friday June 2nd.
 
Place leaves and branches at the curb for pickup by end of day May 29th. Leaves must be bagged or piled and covered to protect from the wind. Branches must be bundled together. Branches must be less than 4 feet in length and 3 inches in diameter.

Last week the Village of Calumet received the 2023 Governor's Award for Historic Preservation for the Bring Back Calumet initiative. It was super cool to attend the ceremony down in Lansing with the partners in the Bring Back Calumet Task Force, including the Village DDA, Main Street Calumet, Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance, Keweenaw National Historical Park, KNHP Advisory Commission and the Houghton County Land Bank Authority. Our state legislators, Representative Markkanen and Senator McBroom were in attendance and gave encouraging speeches for our group at the ceremony. Calumet is such a special place and it takes a village to keep moving forward with these revitalization efforts.
