The 150th anniversary of the Village of Calumet, Michigan marks a significant milestone in the rich tapestry of the region's history. Once the heart of the Upper Peninsula’s copper boom, Calumet played a vital role in the industrial and cultural development of Michigan and the nation. This sesquicentennial celebration honors the resilience of a community shaped by generations of miners, immigrants, and innovators who helped build a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and deep-rooted heritage. As the village reflects on its past and looks ahead to the future, this moment offers a chance to celebrate its enduring spirit and the unique identity that has defined Calumet for a century and a half.
