During a General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, the Voters of the Village of Calumet will have the opportunity to decide the following question:

ORDINANCE FOR THE NOMINATION
AND APPOINTMENT OF VILLAGE CLERK
 
Shall Ordinance Number 157 of the Village of Calumet providing that the village clerk shall be chosen by nomination by the village president and appointment by a majority vote of the village council be approved as authorized by section 1(3), chapter II of the General Law Village Act (1895, PA 3, as amended)?

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of the above-mentioned township and village who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Calumet Township Clerk; the office of the Houghton County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency.  Registration forms may be obtained at mi.gov/vote and mailed to Calumet Township.  Voters who are already registered may update their registration at:  www.expressSOS.com.
The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the Calumet Township Clerk is October 24, 2022.
After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.492) at the following address (Please call for hours):

A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 5:30 PM to receive input on the Village of Calumet Master Plan update pursuant to Public Act 33 of 2008, the Michigan Planning Enabling Act.  The public hearing will be held at the Village of Calumet Council Chambers, 340 6th St, Calumet, MI 49913 after which the Planning Commission may make a recommendation to the Village Council to adopt the plan.
 
Public comment will be received in person during the public hearing or may be submitted in writing prior to the public hearing by emailing manager@villageofcalumet.com or mailing to 340 6th Street Calumet MI 49913.  Written public comment will be received until 5:00pm on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
